The Tyrannosaur

Muldoon tried to open the door for the lab, but it was locked. Muldoon looked at Hammond and asked to see the Tyrannosaurus hatchling. "Mr. Muldoon, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but we can't allow you to handle any dinosaurs right now. We don't know how to handle them, we don't know anything about how they survive." "If taking care of these things is anything like taking care of a lion cub or bear cub, I'm set." "We can't allow you to handle any of the attractions at the moment. They are too fragile to be handled by anyone unprofessional right now." "They? There's one that you said was just cloned, and as far as I'm concerned, no one is qualified to handle it." "Can we just shift the topic?" "After I see the Tyrannosaur." "Fine."

Hammond unlocked the door and walked in with Muldoon. One of the scientists was examining the young Tyrannosaurus, and it was apparent that the youngster didn't like the man. Hammond asked what the man was doing, and the man said "I'm trying to weigh the little thing, but it won't stop struggling." Muldoon looked at the man, looking a little bugged by what he said. "Pass me the little guy, I want to try something." The scientist reluctantly handed the Tyrannosaurus to Muldoon, and Muldoon held it close to his chest.

The Tyrannosaurus calmed down closed her eyes. Muldoon walked to the table and gently set the Tyrannosaurus down on the scale. "There you go, it weighs five pounds." Hammond and the scientists couldn't believe what they just saw. "How did you do that?" "Do what?" "You just made the thing calm right down then set it on the scale no problem." "Oh, that. It was easy. Just establish a sense of trust with it and then you can do almost anything." "How did you do it so easily?" "I have experience with bear and lion cubs, so treat it like you would treat one of them. That and I wasn't poking it with sharp pieces of metal and trying to make it do something against its will." "Impressive anyway." Hammond spoke up. "Mr. Muldoon, why don't you look after the young one while we order some supplies for when you need them." "Sounds good."

Very well written chapter. Muldoon always seems so incredibly badass in your stories.

Thanks, and really? A good chunk of this is simply common sense. It's Muldoon that makes Muldoon seem badass.

The story is well done, and it makes perfect sence for Muldoon. I hope it will in time show his reaction to the raptors once they are cloned.

Of course Muldoon has a natural badasss-ness to him. But you take every grain of badassery and show it to us. You know what I'm talking about? It's like a good tea. It doesn't matter how good the tea is, if the one making the tea isn't good enough to take advantage of every last bit of flavour, you might as well just drink some regular, old tea.
