Jurassic Park: Operations- What we know so far.

JPO (aka Jurassic Park Operations) has received a lot of press and interest in the last days. That brought with it, a lots of question also.

So with this post I want to answer some of them, to make all clearer.

What source I have? I searched like a desperate over their facebook page, and found some amazing infos. So let's begin!

1-Gameplay

JPO is definitelly going to be a park simulation game. You will have to build your park and put up different constructions. However, you will be able to drive and walk around the park as either Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler and Ian Malcolm.

2- Platform

Sad news for who doesn't have a PC.Being a non-profit fanmade game, it will run only on computer.

3- Animals

There will be a lot of dinosaurs and non-dinosaurs species. Those who will appear surely are: tyrannosaurus, Spinosaurus, Velociraptor, Dilophosaurus, Compsognathus, Ceratosaurus, Carnotaurus, Brachiosaurus, Mamenchisaurus, Titanosaurus, Triceratops, Styracosaurus, Einiosaurus (in the pic), Stegosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Gallimimus, Pachycephalosaurus, Ankylosaurus. Perhaps there will be also some reptiles, such as Pteranodon, Kronosaurus and Elasmosaurus.

4- Buildings and vehicles

The game will show some classic buildings and new ones too. Some of the classic ones are the visitor center, kiosks, restrooms, hatcheries and feeders, while some of the newer ones will be a helipad and even an aviary and an aquarium. Speaking of vehicles, I can surely say there will be an InGen chopper, a Ford Explorer from the movie, and the classic Wrangler Jeep. A new one will be the TLW style safari/research bus!

All those models are awesome!

5- Features and improvements

Apart from those seen in JPOG, this one will have several new features, like a day and night cycle, sexual dimorphism, and the possibilities for the dinosaurs to breed and take care of their youngs. Other features will be known as the production of the game go on. We also know the islands will be much bigger and with more realistic landscape and vegetation. Furthermore, we can safely assume that the graphics will be a lot better, same for Visitor/ dinosaur interactions and behavior.

NOTE: The T-rex from the test video are only placeholders. So the final T-Rex' model, animatiom and behavior will be much more improved.

6- Release

Although the release date for the game is unknown yet, we know that the tech demo will be released on 1st of January 2014, completely free for PC. In this demo you will be able to play as Ellie at least, and wander about the island. There will be no park, and only 7 species of dinosaurs, wich ones of them, is not decided yet. The demo will have the role to show us the potential of the game, and the basic gamplay.

All this being said, I'm dying for the game to be ready, and I'm sure you can't wait too.

JPO will surely be the best JP game ever, ad one of the best dinosaur games ever, along with DinosaurBattlegrounds.

It's going to have the Jurassic Park Jeeps. The whole thing isn't loading, just parts of it, so I'm not sure if you included that.

I will be also updating the post periodically, as I'll answer more of your questions and also get more news from the game creators. If not, I'll make a daily topic of those updates. So be sure to keep an eye on it! ;)

so the demo will be site B style? will the dinosaurs be there already or do we have to place them?

Yes, site-B style. That I don't know. But I think it's very likely that the dinos will be already roaming there.
